We bought an apartment!

Happy news! Finally, at the age of 34 years old, I became a house owner (or an apartment owner actually)! This is probably some millennial thing but I have been living such an unsteady life before that renting has been the only sensible option for me. When we found out that I was expecting a baby, we felt that now it’s a good time to invest in an apartment. The timing could have been better when you think of the skyrocketing energy prices and increasing interest rates that are almost causing me sleepless nights. Seriously, my electricity price just more than tripled! However, I believe that you should not think about these things too much when you are making decisions for the long term. And my 25-year mortgage is definitely for the long term.

So, our new apartment is located in a building constructed in 2019. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a sauna, a closet, kitchen-livingroom and a balcony. It has 63 square metres, which is not a lot for three persons. Yet a massive upgrade to our previous 33 square metres. The decor is pretty simple with white walls and Ikea furniture but hey, you need to start somewhere.

And yes, the apartment is located in Tampere, my beloved home town. The city is located between two lakes, Näsijärvi and Pyhäjärvi. This building is just on the shore of Näsijärvi. It takes 10 minutes to drive to the city. With the tram line getting ready in a couple of years, commuting is going to be super easy and convenient. I’m slowly falling in love with our little home. I can’t wait to spend dark autumn evenings there with wine and candlelight.

That’s it. It feels so good to welcome autumn in a new home <3
